The event – which forms part of South Somerset District Council’s Healthy Workplace programme – was supported on the day by NHS Somerset and 1610 Leisure.
Charlie Coward, from the district council’s healthy lifestyles team said: “There has been a lot of research which suggests that having a healthy and more active workplace has a number of benefits including reduced absenteeism, improved staff retention and increased productivity.
“To help Asda we offered a range of health tests for employees including body fat percentage, blood sugar, blood pressure and body mass index.
“We already work closely with local organisations including Yarlington Housing Group, Honeywell, Screwfix and Yeovil District Hospital to help them implement steps to becoming healthier workplaces.
“This is the first activity we have organised at Asda and I was pleased with the response and turnout from staff on the day.”
